SPIDER ROCKETS Debut Lyric Video For “Break”

For Immediate Release

Song Taken From Band’s Latest Release Bitten

Everyone has been Bitten by the infectious sounds of New Jersey’s SPIDER ROCKETS. The album has received some real love from press and made Top Adds on the CMJ Metal charts. At secondary market active rock, SPIDER ROCKETS triumphed over respectable heavy hitters like Five Finger Death Punch, Pennywise, Hellyeah and other kick-ass contenders. Since the release of Bitten, the group has toured with Trapt, opened for the likes of Papa Roach, Steel Panther, Saigon Kick, and their track, "Going Down," was picked up by the WWE and served as wrestler Charlotte Flair's entrance AND victory theme for 2 quarters of 2014.

Now the band is pleased to debut their FIRST EVER lyric video for the song “Break.” For the concept, the band wanted to make this a fun video to watch and was drawn to powerful and dramatic pulp art from the 1930's through the early 1960s. The video was created and directed by Jason Nappi and Roman Fernandez.

"People on the verge, mummies, aliens, monsters and spiders -- what's not to like?” says frontwoman Helena Cos. Check out the video HERE!

Bitten is available for purchase via iTunes and Amazon.

SPIDER ROCKETS combines contemporary loud rock with classic rock elements. The New Jersey based band travels the sonic spectrum from dark and seductive to energetic to angry, with a dynamic live show and scream-along anthems. Interestingly enough for a band called SPIDER ROCKETS, it is a bit strange that members of the band are afraid of spiders.… Although, it seems that they may be starting to overcome their fear based on the title of their album, Bitten.

On Bitten, the band worked once again with producer Eric Rachel in New Jersey. In South Florida, Ryan Sambrook provided additional production and Zach Ziskin mixed the album. From both a compositional and performance standpoint, Bitten is the group’s strongest work to date. Long before completion of the record, an early rendition of one stand-out track “Scream,” garnered over 35,000 hits on YouTube without any promotional efforts and no official release.

SPIDER ROCKETS JOIN SALIVA IN OCTOBER

Spider Rockets release tour dates: Oct 2nd through Oct 11

A week after releasing their first official video for "Going Down", Spider Rockets will hit the road with Saliva in the Midwest and the south. "We haven't been on the road since our runs with Trapt earlier this spring," admits lead singer, Helena Cos; "...but we haven't visited the south in at least a couple of years! So that, along with Saliva being cool enough to share the stage with us is pretty awesome."

Spider Rockets has a new stage show consisting of various backdrops, a smoldering rocket ship, probing searchlight, whips, megaphone and a mannequin head. "The rocket ship will be a work in progress, hopefully we won't need to abort any missions!" jokes John Nap, the band's guitarist. "But the real challenge as an opening band has been coming up with staging that won't interfere with the headliner's space; one that is modular enough to adjust from venue to venue, but that also packs light... And I believe we've found it." John refers to a series self-standing vertical, retractable banners or scrims (neither, really) that can be extended, shortened, and rearranged depending on the size and configuration of the venue's stage. Bassist, Greg Manning, adds: "We just hope we don't end up with a 'Stone Henge' situation!"

The group also may bring along their four legged roadie/security guard, Lemmy, a 18 pound Dachshund with a bad attitude and a fierce appetite; "that little shit always sniffs out where I hide my meatball sub in the van," bitches drummer, Dan Prestup.

Confirmed tour dates include:

October 2 Harley Davidson Biketown (Austintown, OH) w/ SALIVA

October 3 Jonny's Roadhouse (Aurora, IN) w/ SALIVA

October 4 Beale Street Live (Indianapolis, IN) w/ SALIVA

October 5 Diesel Concert Lounge (Chesterfield, MI) w/ SALIVA

SPIDER ROCKETS RELEASE THEIR FIRST OFFICIAL VIDEO, "GOING DOWN," TODAY

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Sept 13, 2013

SPIDER ROCKETS RELEASE THEIR FIRST OFFICIAL VIDEO, "GOING DOWN," TODAY.

The video release marks new upcoming tour dates for Spider Rockets

After their first foray into video land with “Scream” (a montage of studio production footage and live clips from the group’s dates on Van’s Warped Tour) two years ago, Spider Rockets has picked today, Friday the 13th to release “Going Down.” “You know that something’s going down on Friday the 13th…. It might as well be us!” jokes singer, Helena Cos. The song lyrics play off the sexual and hostile interpretations suggested by the track’s title, often walking a very fine line between the two. “I wanted the listeners to make up their own minds which way I’m leaning when I’m singing, ‘When you come here you’re going down’,” admits Helena.

The video weaves around vintage black and white footage to add a bit of levity into what is otherwise far from a funny song. This idea was inspired by videos from other legendary rock bands like Ratt’s “You’re in Love,” Iron Maiden’s “Run to the Hills,” and Metallica’s “One,” the latter’s infusion of black and white clips being arguably less humorous.

“We were also on a budget and knew we’d have to fill some frames,” admits guitarist John Nap, “and it’s amazing how much they were asking us to pay for some other common rights ‘free’ footage that never made the video, like clips of Betty Boop and Popeye!”

“Going Down” can be seen starting today on the band’s official YouTube page.

FRIDAY THE 13TH MAY BE A LUCKY DAY FOR SPIDER ROCKETS WITH NEW VIDEO

FRIDAY THE 13TH MAY BE A LUCKY DAY FOR SPIDER ROCKETS WITH NEW VIDEO.

“Going Down” marks first official video release by Spider Rockets

New Jersey's Spider Rockets will finally unveil their first official music video for their single, "Going Down," this Friday the 13th. “Going Down” is the follow-up to the group's first foray into the video arena, a combination of production and live clips for their anthem, "Scream." It was the first track recorded for the group's current release Bitten, which went live on YouTube before the album's completion. "Scream" tallied over 45,000 views without a faint whisper of promotion.

"Going Down" has knocked out some national heavyweights on a number of cage-matches at active rock radio including Five Finger Death Punch, Pennywise and Hellyeah. "It's mind blowing that we could take on those guys and win! And win we did... Over and over it seemed," revels a stunned Helena Cos, the group's lead singer.

The video, produced by film graduate, Jason Nappi, was a zero-budget endeavor. Johnny Nap, the group’s lead guitarist, admits, "it started with some real nice guys at an old warehouse in Jersey who let us in as a favor, and a bunch of offbeat common license footage that fit the theme of the song. We didn't want to take ourselves too seriously."

"We heard Van Halen shot ‘Jump’ for just $400!" sets up drummer, Dan Prestup, "...and we thought, we don’t have that kind of money!" laughs bassist, Greg Manning.

Look out for "Going Down" on Friday the 13th of September on http://www.SpiderRockets.com, the group's social sites, select TV screens and third party sites that aren't intimidated by a fierce 5' 1" no bullshit vixen.

Spider Rockets celebrate the release of their new video when they perform Friday the 13th of September at Mojo Main in Newark, Delaware. Log on to http://www.mojomain.com for details.

October tour dates will be released next week.

SPIDER ROCKETS Welcome New Bass Player
Wednesday, 30 January 2013 20:14
SPIDER ROCKETS have officially announced a new addition to their close-knit arachnoid family. Greg Manning has filled a permanent position with the group as bassist and back-up vocalist.

“Greg has been a long time friend of ours and was always a big fan of the band. He’s also a seasoned vocalist, so he’s able to blend nicely with my voice in harmonies, or pull off grittier leads like the male vocal parts in tracks like ‘Gasoline.’ And his hair speaks for itself,” admits lead singer, Helena Cos.

SPIDER ROCKETS will show off the new goods when they debut Greg (The Mane) Manning when they support Trapt at Monirae’s in Pennellville, NY on Friday, February 8th at 8:00 pm. The band supports Trapt again February 10th in Clifton Park, New York, while breaking away Saturday, February 9th for a performance at Downtown Quarterback in Endicott, NY.

SPIDER ROCKETS’s latest release, ‘Bitten,’ was named “Top 10 Hard Rock Album of 2012” by Metal Odyssey.
